VK Pro Phosphor has been developed for the treatment of phosphorus deficiency (hypophosphatemia) commonly seen in dairy cows during the postpartum period. Our formulation, containing phosphorus sources with high bioavailability, supports rapid recovery in cases of muscle weakness and downer cow syndrome.
Phosphorus is critically important for energy metabolism, bone structure, and muscle function. During the postpartum period, the phosphorus requirement increases for milk production and blood phosphorus levels may drop. VK Pro Phosphor rapidly addresses this deficiency and helps the animal get back on its feet.

Usage Information
Target Animals
Dairy cows, especially in the postpartum period
Indications
- Downer cow syndrome (cows that do not stand up after calcium treatment)
- Symptoms of hypophosphatemia
- Muscle weakness and trembling
- Loss of appetite and lethargy
Dosage
- 2 boluses per day, until the cow stands up (maximum 3 days)
- 1 bolus per day together with a calcium bolus
Uygulama Yöntemi
Administered orally using a bolus applicator. Exercise caution when administering to recumbent animals; the risk of aspiration should be evaluated.

What is downer cow syndrome?
It is a condition commonly seen in the postpartum period where the cow is unable to stand up. It often starts with calcium deficiency, but phosphorus deficiency also plays an important role. Phosphorus support may be needed in cows that still do not stand up after calcium treatment.
Should it be used together with a calcium bolus?
In postpartum recumbent cows, both calcium and phosphorus deficiency are often present simultaneously. The combined use of VK Pro Calcium and VK Pro Phosphor is recommended.
How long should I use it?
2 boluses per day are administered until the animal stands up. It should be used for a maximum of 3 days. If there is no improvement after 3 days, consult a veterinarian.
